LOOKING BACK AND LOOKING FORWARD: REVIEWING AND RENEWING YOUR PURPOSE AND VALUES AS A LEADER

Your past can inform your future as a leader.

Leadership styles are not born, bought, or learned. Successful leadership is an ever-changing process. Leadership is not about using tools that define an ideal leader, nor is it about ‘discovering’ your own perfect leadership style. It’s about constantly exploring and evolving your leadership and pursuing opportunities that you may not have thought of or considered.

It’s important to try and analyze the reasons and motivations, some often unconscious, that determine the choices you might make. By understanding what triggers your past changes and transformations, you can make choices that you may not have considered – and others that can lead you down different pathways.

LEAD BY EXAMPLE Lessons can be learned not only from history but also from different leadership styles in the modern era. There are many leaders who have impacted others in constructive and powerful ways and it’s helpful to explore examples of many executives who have evolved and grown as leaders.
