On the journey of self awareness, executives and business leaders need to unpack the notion of authority and power and learn to expect that different contexts may require different types of authority. They grow and benefit from exploring, understanding, and appreciating personal values and character traits like decisiveness, conviction, and self-confidence, as well as confronting the flip side: self doubt and the potential fear of humiliation and shame.
